’21 GEICO High School Basketball Nationals – Field is set & talent rich
The boys and girls brackets are set for the 2021 Geico High School Basketball Nationals and they are loaded with talent. The full field includes 40 ESPN nationally ranked players of which 7 are also 2021 McDonald’s All Americans.
The crowning high school basketball tournament returns in 2021 with another loaded tournament field but at a new venue and an expanded field for the boys bracket to 10 teams from 8 teams in prior years. As anticipated, #1 Montverde Academy, #2 Sunrise Christian, #3 IMG Academy, & #4 AZ Compass all received auto bids & first round byes. #5 Wasatch Academy & #6 Milton High also received first round byes. First round play-in teams include Pace Academy vs Oak Hill on one side of the bracket, while Prolific Prep will face La Lumiere on the other side.
The girls bracket boasts a very strong 4 team bracket that includes the top 3 seeds with undefeated records(#1 Freemont, #2 Lake Highland Prep, & #3 St Paul’s VI) and strong #4 seed, Fremont, flexing a 23-4 record.
This years event will take place at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, Ft Meyers on March 31 – April 3, 2021. Due to COVID 19 precautions, tickets will not be sold to the event.
All games will be broadcast live on one of the ESPN family stations(ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2, ESPN3). The boys’ tournament will be called by Ted Emrich and Paul Biancardi and the girls’ tournament will be called by Matt Schick and Aja Ellison.

Tournament History
The National High School Invitational (NHSI) launched in 2009 at Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, MD. The event was created by Paragon Marketing Group to provide a season-ending platform for top, nationally-ranked high school basketball teams to compete against one another in a season-ending tournament. In 2014 the event moved to New York City and was named the DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals. In 2018 the event became the GEICO High School Basketball Nationals.
