FAMU vs USF Game Preview
Date: September 18th
Game Time: 7:00 ET
Venue: Raymond James Stadium
Network: ESPN+
What to Look for from USF:
The Bulls haven’t had the ideal start to their season – losing big against NC State and Florida. The most glaring issue from those games was the Bulls’ run defense. USF gave up 293 rushing yards to NC State and 363 rushing to Florida. If a team gives up nearly 300 rushing yards per game and 7.8 yards per carry, it’s going to be difficult for them to win any game. The Bulls’ have the size and skill up front to have a solid a run defense, it is simply a matter of execution. It is fair to assume that USF will hone in on their run defense throughout the game, focusing on any details that might have been missed in the previous two weeks, before going on the road to face a tough BYU team next week.
What to Look for from FAMU:
FAMU has produced great, defensively, giving up only 7 points in each of their first 2 games. One of the biggest components of the Rattlers’ defensive success has been their ability to force turnovers. FAMU created 3 turnovers in a close loss to Jackson State, and created 4 turnovers in a blowout win over Fort Valley State. This is a great opportunity for the Rattlers’ to test their defense against a more talented team, before eventually heading into MEAC conference play.
