Miami Hurricanes dominate shutting out the Blue Devils
Miami Hurricanes shutout the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils today in very impressive fashion.
The ‘Canes seemingly scored at will totaling 10 TD’s equally compiled by ground & throughout the air.
What Central Connecticut (Blue Devils) Did Well:
The Blue Devils clearly wanted to control the time of possession, and were able to do so. They were able to execute on that component of their game plan, it just didn’t produce the results they were looking for. CCSU showed that they were able to execute parts of their game plan, they were simply outmatched by the Hurricanes.
What University of Miami Did Well:
Tyler Van Dyke and Jake Garcia, both of whom worked with the Hurricanes last spring, stepped in for injured veteran quarterback D’Eriq King. Van Dyke’s success with long and accurate passes contributed to points on the board, and Garcia had success with passing and running the ball. Defensively, Miami was able to contain the Blue Devils, rarely letting them past mid-field. The Hurricanes defense kept their energy high throughout the game, resulting in the shutout, which is an impressive feat regardless of the competition
What Central Connecticut Didn’t Do Well:
CCSU struggled making tackles throughout the entirety of the game, which led to extended drives and touchdowns for the Hurricanes. On the offensive end, the Blue Devils were unable to get anything going on the ground, leaving sophomore quarterback, Romero Williams, with clogged passing lanes.
What University of Miami Didn’t Do Well:
The Hurricanes played a great game on Saturday, and this is clearly reflected in the score. With that said, there’s no such thing as a perfect game, and there’s always something to improve on. Miami missed a couple big play opportunities with dropping potential interceptions. These are opportunities that the Hurricanes will have to take advantage of when playing against tougher competition.
