USF Runs Away From Temple
South Florida took care of business on Saturday night, winning a conference bout against Temple, 34-14. The Bulls recorded their second win of the season – their first against an FBS opponent and their first in conference play. South Florida’s run game stole the show, as they rushed for 421 yards, marking the third time in program history that USF has eclipsed 400 rushing yards. Junior running back, Jaren Mangham, led the team in rushing with 152 yards and 2 touchdowns. Due to the Bulls commitment to the run, they won the time of possession battle handily, having the ball for nearly 3/4 of the game. Temple was able to keep the game close for the majority of the first half. The Owls eventually cut the Bulls’ lead down to 3, with a rushing touchdown from Edward Saydee early in the third quarter. From then on, South Florida controlled the rest of the game, scoring 17 unanswered points.
