Alabama Takes the No. 1 Spot in AP Top 25 for Second Straight Season
The AP Top 25 was released on Monday. Alabama took the No. 1 for the second year in a row, and their seventh time under Nick Saban. Ohio State grabbed the No. 2 spot, followed by reigning national champion, Georgia, at No.3. Clemson checks in at No. 4, and Notre Dame rounds out the top 5.
The AP Top 25 rankings are fairly similar to the Pre-Season Coaches Poll, which was released last week. The top 5 is identical, with minor shifts in rankings throughout the rest of the poll. The biggest difference between the polls is Texas not being included in the AP poll, although they did receive votes. Following a 5-7 season, the Longhorns were checked in at the No. 18 spot in the Pre-Season Coaches Poll.
