Former USF QB Timmy McClain Transfers to UCF
Shortly after entering the transfer portal, Timmy McClain has announced he will be transferring to UCF. The former USF quarterback made the announcement via his Twitter.
McClain, an Orlando area native, led Seminole High School to a state championship in 2021, before heading to Tampa to suit up for the Bulls. McClain started for USF as a true freshman, throwing for 1,888 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, on a 55% completion rate.
The Bulls went 2-10 last season under second year head coach Jeff Scott. In the off-season they brought in 5th year senior quarterback and 2021 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, Gerry Bohanon. The former Baylor starting quarterback was announced as the Bulls starter on Monday. McClain put his name in the transfer portal soon after.
McClain will be ineligible to play for UCF in the upcoming season, due to transferring after the July 1st deadline. He will redshirt this season, while he learns Malzahn’s system. McClain adds more young talent to an already talented QB room at UCF.
