The Texas Longhorns have announced Quinn Ewers as their starting quarterback. The former No. 1 recruit from Southlake, Texas will be leading the Longhorns heading into the 2022 season.

Earlier this week, Ewers took to Twitter and hinted at “something coming.” Amid the buzz around Texas’ quarterback competition between Freshman, Quinn Ewers, and Sophomore, Hudson Card, the Longhorns made the announcement on Friday afternoon.

The Longhorns head into the season with a top five recruiting class, and brought in a handful of great transfers as well. Ewers, the former Ohio State Buckeye, headlines the talented transfer class.

Texas opens the season against Louisiana-Monroe on September 3rd, followed by one of their biggest challenges of the season, hosting No. 1 Alabama on September 10th.
