The UCF Knights defense remains true as one of the top defenses in the nation. After the first 4 games of the 2022 season, the 3-1 Knights are currently ranked in the Top 25 in 9 different defensive categories & in the Top 40 in 3 others.

1st in Red Zone Defense – In 15 attempts, UCF has only allowed 6 scores. 2 rushing TD’s, 1 passing TD, & 3 FG’s.  Miami 19th(tied)

1st(tied) in Block Kicks – 3 blocked kicks which is tied with Clemson, & 4 others.  FSU #7(tied), Miami & FIU 12th(tied)

4th(tied) in Blocked Punts – In 23 punt attempts, UCF has 2 blocks & both have been returned for TD’s.  

12th in Scoring Defense – UCF has allowed 6 TD’s 4 field goals totaling 54 points for an average of 13.5 points/game.  FSU 32nd(tied) & Miami42nd(tied)

16th in 3rd Down Conversion Percentage Defense – 15/56 .268. In relation to others, Oklahoma State is #5 at .234%, Alabama #2 at .186%, & Minnesota #1 at .143%

18th in Passing Efficiency Defense – 55/113 679yds 3 TD 1 INT 106.14 passing efficiency.  FSU 48th

19th in Passing Yards Allowed – 55/113 679 yards 12.35 yds/completion.  FSU 16th

20th in 4th Down Conversion Percentage Defense – 3/10 .300% 

25th(tied) in Tackles For Loss -28 total yards for 7.0 yds/game.  USF 29th(tied) & Miami 36th(tied)

30th in Total Defense – 252 plays for 1,252 yards, 4.9 yds/play, & 313 yds/game.  FSU 28th & Miami 44th

33rd(tied) in Team Sacks – UCF’s 2.5 sacks/game ranks 33 tied with 14 others including FSU & Miami

35th(tied) in 1st Down Defense – Allowed 68 first downs.  Miami 12th(tied) allowing 55 first downs
