Tennessee Takes No.1 Spot in First CFP Rankings
Heading into week 10 of the college football season, the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2022-23 season have been announced.
Touting an undefeated 8-0 record, headlined with a win over No. 6 Alabama, the Tennessee Volunteers take the No. 1 spot in the first CFP rankings. The Volunteers earned their first No. 1 spot in any rankings or polls since their national championship run in 1998.
Ohio State, Georgia, and Clemson round out the top four of the initial CFP rankings.
No. 1 Tennessee will take on No. 3 Georgia on Saturday, a game which will seemingly decide the winner of the SEC East, and potentially have major impacts on the CFP rankings moving forward.
No. 5 Michigan and No. 7 TCU are the only undefeated teams not in the top four, while Alabama takes the No. 6 spot, with their only loss coming to No. 1 Tennessee.
