UCF Withstands Late Temple Run At Home 57-53
Coming off a three game losing streak, UCF women’s basketball hosted Temple on Tuesday night. The Knights snapped their losing streak, holding off Temple for a 57-53 win.
UCF came out hot, jumping to a 15-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Owls fought their way back into the game, starting the fourth quarter with a 4 point lead, but an explosive fourth quarter from UCF sealed the win for Coach Messer and her players.
The Knights’ defensive performance, along with their diligence on the boards, had a major impact on the outcome of the game. UCF held Temple to just 22.9% from the field, while out rebounding the Owls, 56-43.
UCF’s Junior forward, Anzhane Hutton, led the way offensively. Hutton recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
