Coming for All The Smoke – UCF Currently has Top Recruiting Class in Big 12
Following commitments from two four-star recruits on Tuesday, UCF tops Texas Tech as the current No. 1 2024 recruiting class in the Big 12.

Safety and top-100 recruit, Jaylen Heyward, out of Rockledge (FL), and wide receiver, Bredell Richardson, out of Carrollwood Day (FL) pledged their commitment to the Knights on Tuesday. The pair of four-star recruits pushed the Knights over the edge to give them the current top recruiting class in the conference.
In their 2024 recruiting class, the Knights now have 17 total recruits, including 8 four-stars. With the commitments from Heyward and Richardson, the Knights 2024 class currently sits at 24th in the nation, their highest ranking in program history.
During today’s post-practice press conference, offensive coordinator, Darin Hinshaw, spoke about Gus Malzahn’s relentless effort to put together this recruiting class. And Hinshaw mentioned that they’re not done, saying, “We got more targets, more targets coming.”
