Miami Enters Top 25 After Win Over Texas A&M
The Miami Hurricanes had arguably their biggest win in the Mario Cristobal era, defeating the previously No. 23 ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 48-33, on Saturday. The AP Poll voters took notice, ranking the Hurricanes at the No. 22 spot in this week’s rankings.
This is the first time Miami has entered the rankings this season, and it is the first time they’ve been featured in the AP Top 25 since week 4 of last season.
With this being year two of the Mario Cristobal era, it is the first season where Cristobal was able to get his own guys on the roster, whether that be high school recruits or players through the transfer portal. Last season was about instilling culture, and now this season Cristobal was able to bring in who he believes will fit within it.
The season won’t be deemed successful after one win over A&M, and Cristobal and his staff knows that, but it is certainly a sign that the Hurricanes are moving in the right direction.
