No. 22 Miami Defeats Bethune-Cookman; Opens Season 3-0 at Home
The newly No. 22 ranked Miami Hurricanes took on Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium. The Hurricanes took care of business, defeating the Wildcats, 48-7.
With the win, Miami jumps out to a 3-0 start at home before their first road game of the season, next Saturday at Temple.
The Hurricanes’ defense came up big once again, allowing only 165 total yards and shutting out BCU up to 1:19 in the 4th quarter.
Miami allowed just 1.1 yards per carry and 33 rushing yards. The Hurricanes’ run defense has been impressive through their first three games, allowing 181 total rushing yards. Texas A&M was statistically their worst run defense performance, still holding them to under 100 rushing yards and 3.3 yards per rush.
On the offensive end, Miami’s run game was impressive, putting up 240 rushing yards, while averaging 6.7 yards per rush.
