USF Stumbles in Second Half, Losses to FAU 56-14
USF hosted FAU on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium for their first home game since September 23rd. With it being their homecoming game, USF pulled out all the stops, wearing the Robobull logo on their helmets and changing up the end zone design.
Despite the anticipation surrounding the game, the Bulls struggled in their second half, eventually losing 56-14 to their in-state foe.
USF put together a solid drive at the end of the first half, resulting in Gunnar Greenwald’s first career touchdown. The Bulls went into halftime down 21-14.
In the second half, everything fell apart for USF. They were outscored 35-0 throughout the half. FAU scored on five straight possessions, including a 67-yard punt return for a touchdown by LaJohntay Wester.
The only two possessions that FAU didn’t score, were their final two possessions of the game. One of which they milked the clock and turned it over on downs, the other, they kneeled out the clock.
With the loss, USF falls to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Bulls are currently sixth in the AAC standings.
