Kwame Evans Jr. has committed to Oregon. The 6-9, 190 pound forward announced his decision on Tuesday, via Instagram.
Evans Jr. is currently ranked No. 2 overall in the class of 2023. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Evans Jr. transferred to Montverde Academy for his junior year and will be finishing out his high school career there. He will be an integral part of Montverde’s team, as they look to win their fourth straight national championship.
Evans Jr. is coming off of a productive summer, in which he averaged 10.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game throughout Nike’s EYBL Peach Jam. His impressive play for Team Durant earned him a spot on the tournament’s All-Second Team.
The five-star forward will be joining four-star guard, Jackson Shelstad, at Oregon. This duo has earned head coach, Dana Altman, and his staff a top 10 recruiting class for 2023.
