New Renderings of Proposed Miami Hurricanes Stadium Surface
University of Miami booster, John H. Ruiz, has released renderings of a new proposed stadium for the Hurricanes. Ruiz is looking to build the 60,000 seat stadium at Tropical Park, only about 3 miles away from the University’s campus in Coral Gables.
Ruiz is working alongside HKS Architecture, who designed AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. HKS also designed SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, host of Super Bowl LVI, and home of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams.
The proposed stadium would have a retractable roof, air conditioning, luxury suites, and a floating scoreboard, similar to SoFi Stadium.
In 2008, the University of Miami signed a 25-year contract to play their games at Hard Rock Stadium through 2033. Ruiz hopes to have the proposed stadium built by 2025.
