Miami Survives At Home in Pitt Comeback
Miami hosted Pitt at the Watsco Center on Saturday, January 27th. The Hurricanes survived Pitt’s late game comeback attempt, on their way to a 72-68 win.
The Hurricanes went into halftime with a 40-29 lead, and led by as many as 19 with 13:20 remaining. From that point, slowly but surely, Pitt started to crawl their way back into the game.
The Panthers had brought the game within 9 points with 4:11 remaining. With just over the a minute remaining, Pitt had brought it to a one-score game, trailing 68-65.
Ultimately, Miami was able to knock down a handful of clutch free throws to ice the game. Following back-to-back losses, the Hurricanes have now won two straight.
Norchad Omier recored his third straight double-double, with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman, Kyshwan George, had his third straight double figure performance, scoring 11 points, while grabbing 9 rebounds.
Nigel Pack and Wooga Poplar each scored 17 points.
